Mental Health First Aid
Do you work with young people?
You may have taken a class in first aid, but do you know what to do when mental health issues arise? Would you be prepared to help?
NAMI Geauga County and the Geauga Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services sponsored a workshop in early Spring of 2015 called:
Youth Mental Health First Aid.
This 8 hour course is designed to give those who work with youngsters and teens vital information about mental health. The course is intended for all people and organizations that make up the fabric of a community. The course is presented to chambers of commerce, professional associations, hospitals, nursing homes, rotary clubs, parent organizations, social clubs, and other groups. Professionals who regularly interact with a lot of people (such as police officers, human resource directors, and primary care workers), school and college leadership, faith communities, friends and family of individuals with mental illness or addiction, or anyone interested in learning more about mental illness and addiction should get trained.
The time, date and location of new workshops will be announced. We would like to offer attendees the opportunity to have input as to time, day and location of this class. If you would like to be sure we contact you by email, complete the form below. There is a class limit of 25, so act soon so you too can gain important information about the youngsters you influence.
