Miles for Mental Health & Wellness Walk and Symposium
1 in 5 Americans are affected by mental illness. 50 percent of mental health conditions begin by age 14, and 75 percent of mental health conditions develop by age 24. Yet, fewer than 1/3 of adults and 1/2 of children with a mental health condition receive services and treatment in a given year. Early engagement and support are crucial to improving outcomes and increasing the promise of recovery.
MI4MH is a public, active display of support for people affected by mental health conditions. This is one important way we are changing how Americans view people with a mental illness; bringing together families, individuals, coworkers and businesses to help raise funds, combat stigma and promote awareness.
2019 marks our 4th annual walk, and our first 5K. We will be stepping off on Saturday, October 5th from our new Chesterland office at 8389 Mayfield Rd. Bringing our community together, one step at a time.
The 3rd annual Wellness Symposium will begin at 9am prior to the Walk at 11am.
