Geauga County Suicide Prevention Coalition
Free Training by the Geauga County Suicide Prevention Coalition
Call the Geauga County Suicide Prevention Coalition to host a free Suicide Prevention training. The Coalition’s Speakers Bureau will tailor a training for your organization that will help you recognize the warning signs of suicide risk and where to go for help. Training can be done at: Schools, Doctor’s Offices, Community Events, Places of Worship, Workplaces, Senior Organizations and Court System.
The Teen Suicide Prevention Program provides training for teens to go into the classrooms and teach other teens to recognize the signs of depression and to know when to get help, what resources are available and who can help them. This program was started in the hopes of helping more students realize that they are not alone and help is available.
The Geauga County Suicide Prevention Coalition is one of many local suicide prevention groups across Ohio that use education as a powerful tool for reduction in suicides. As more people understand the reason why those in emotional distress turn to suicide as an option and know who to call to get immediate help, preventing suicide becomes an attainable goal. Training ranges in length from 20 minutes to 2 1/2 hours, depending upon the individual organization’s needs.
If your organization would like to join this effort, or if you would like to schedule a training, please call 440-286-6264 or email Billie@namigeauga.org
