Connection and Recovery Peer Support
Our Connection & Recovery Peer Support Group is for those with a mental illness. This group provides a place that offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope.
We have two locations where you may attend on a weekly basis:
Chardon: EVERY Tuesday at 7pm at NAMI Geauga County, 107 South Street, upstairs in the NAMI Annex meeting room.
Middlefield: EVERY Wednesday at 7pm at the Middlefield United Methodist Church at 14999 South State Ave.
The NAMI Support Group model operates differently than other, more traditional “share-and-care” groups. The NAMI Support Group model offers a set of key structures and group processes for facilitators to use in common support group scenarios. These structures come with clear guidelines to follow. They encourage full group participation while respecting the wishes of those who are hesitant. The guidelines and procedures steer the group process through many problematic situations, which commonly undermine support group effectiveness. Contact us for more information at 440-286-6264.
